May 2011 Newsletter

We at WPO would like to extend a big thank you to those who attended our World Photography Festival and Sony World Photography Awards exhibitions in London, and also to our audience all over the world who followed the activity online. The Festival and exhibitions were hugely popular, with over 14,000 visitors attending over the past month.

We're pleased to announce that we'll be back in London at the same time next year, and we'll also be taking the World Photography Festival to New York in October / November, Shanghai in November / December and São Paulo in January 2012.

Sony World Photography Awards 2012
Competions open June 1st next week

For your chance to take to the stage and pick up an award at the Sony World Photography Awards in 2012, enter one of our competitions. On June 1st the Sony World Photography Awards 2012 competitions open for entries, with some exciting changes and additions. All will be revealed next week and we can't wait to see your entries start flooding in!

Sony celebrates the Royal Wedding

To celebrate the Royal Wedding in London, Sony took to Trafalgar Square with a specially designed Sony World Photography Awards postcard addressed to William and Kate. The public were invited to write a message, have their photo taken with it then broadcasted on the big screens!
